founder & FIRST President
Timothy Gan (1997-)
Mr. Timothy Gan is regarded as one of the pioneers of Malaysia's hotel concierge profession and the driving force behind the establishment of Les Clefs d'Or Malaysia.
Serving as Chef Concierge at the Regent Hotel Kuala Lumpur in the early 1990s, he became the first Malaysian concierge to be admitted as a member of Les Clefs d'Or International. This achievement marked a significant milestone for the Malaysian hospitality industry and opened the door for Malaysia's participation in the global concierge community.
Inspired by the values of Service Through Friendship, Mr. Gan worked closely with Les Clefs d'Or Singapore, bringing together a small group of dedicated Malaysian hotel concierges to form the country's first national chapter.
Through his leadership and determination, Malaysia was officially admitted as the 31st Member Section of Les Clefs d'Or International during the 45th International Congress in 1997, alongside Japan.

Dato Roslan Mat Taba (0000-0000)
Dato' Roslan Mat Taba is one of the pioneering figures of Malaysia's hotel concierge profession and served as the 2nd President of the Society of the Golden Keys Malaysia (Les Clefs d'Or Malaysia). During the Society's formative years, he played a vital role in strengthening its foundation and advancing the professional standards of hotel concierges throughout the country. His leadership contributed significantly to the Society's continued growth following Malaysia's admission into Les Clefs d'Or International in 1997, while fostering stronger relationships with fellow member sections around the world.
Throughout his distinguished hospitality career, Dato' Roslan served as Chief Concierge at Istana Hotel Kuala Lumpur, where he became widely respected for his exceptional service, professionalism, and commitment to guest satisfaction. Beyond his responsibilities at the hotel, he was passionate about mentoring young concierges, sharing his knowledge and experience, and encouraging the next generation of hospitality professionals to pursue excellence and uphold the values of Les Clefs d'Or.
As a dedicated ambassador of the concierge profession, Dato' Roslan represented Malaysia at numerous international Les Clefs d'Or events and helped raise the country's profile within the global concierge community. His unwavering commitment, leadership, and lifelong service to the profession earned him the prestigious honour of being named an International Honorary Member of Les Clefs d'Or, recognising his outstanding contributions to both the Society and the international concierge fraternity.

Ragu Kumarasamy (0000-2024)
Ragu Kumarasamy is one of the most influential leaders in the history of the Society of the Golden Keys Malaysia (Les Clefs d'Or Malaysia), serving as the 3rd President and the longest-serving President in the Society's history. His years of dedicated leadership marked a significant period of growth, professional development, and international recognition for the Malaysian concierge community.
Throughout his presidency, Ragu served as Chief Concierge at Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre Hotel & Residences, where he earned a strong reputation for delivering exceptional guest service while championing the values and professionalism of Les Clefs d'Or.
Under his leadership, the Society strengthened its presence both locally and internationally by expanding membership, promoting concierge education, and enhancing collaboration with hospitality partners and fellow Les Clefs d'Or member sections. He was a strong advocate for continuous learning, mentoring young concierge professionals, and elevating service excellence across Malaysia.
One of the defining achievements during his tenure was Malaysia's successful hosting of the 61st UICH Les Clefs d'Or International Congress in Kuala Lumpur in 2014. This landmark event welcomed delegates from around the world and showcased Malaysia's hospitality, professionalism, and ability to host one of the most prestigious gatherings in the global concierge industry. The successful congress further established Malaysia as a respected member of the international Les Clefs d'Or community.
Ragu also led the Society through several important milestones, including strengthening relationships with industry partners, expanding the Malaysian Hotel Concierge (MHC) programme, and supporting the induction of new Les Clefs d'Or members. Following the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, he continued to guide the Society's recovery and was re-elected as President for the 2022–2024 term, demonstrating the confidence and trust placed in his leadership by the membership.
Recognised for his vision, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the concierge profession, Ragu Kumarasamy's legacy continues to inspire generations of Malaysian concierges. His leadership has played a pivotal role in shaping the modern Society of the Golden Keys Malaysia and reinforcing its reputation within the global Les Clefs d'Or family.
Immediate Past President
Narain Rao Balaraman (2024-2026)
In 2024, Mr. Narain Rao Balaraman was appointed as the President of the Society of the Golden Keys Malaysia (Les Clefs d’Or Malaysia) for the 2024–2026 term. As Chief Concierge of Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur, he brought his extensive experience, passion, and dedication to the concierge profession in leading the society towards continued growth and excellence.
During his tenure, the Society focused on strengthening professional development, enhancing concierge education, and fostering greater collaboration within the hospitality industry. One of the key milestones under his leadership was the launch of the Concierge Certification Program in collaboration with Taylor’s University in July 2024, marking an important step in developing future generations of professional concierges in Malaysia.
As President, Mr. Narain Rao Balaraman continued to uphold the values of Les Clefs d’Or, “In Service Through Friendship”, by promoting excellence, unity, and knowledge sharing among Malaysian concierges while strengthening the society’s presence within the global Les Clefs d’Or community.
